"If Theatre is dramatic performance, then Hip Hop Theatre is about creating dramatic
performances using the styles, techniques and values that come from Hip Hop culture"
Jonzi D
Join pioneer Jonzi D at our regular Hip Hop Theatre Workshops to explore how the
elements of Hip Hop can combine or be developed to create Hip Hop Theatre. Hip Hop
Theatre Workshops are aimed at Hip Hop artists who are interested in working with
other artists and discovering how they can broaden their work and taking it to the
next level.
They’re not classes where you learn how to dance or MC, or even what theatre is.
They provide a space, over seven evening sessions, where Hip Hop artists can come
together to improvise, freestyle and share with each other in order to create truly
inspired and innovative work. Some of this work is then shown at
THE SURGERY - a rare opportunity to showcase new work whether finished or
in progress and to get invaluable feedback on from the audience.
