Marquee Hire loved being part of beautiful bride Angela’s wedding to Neil on the 26th August 2017. Angela designed her own wedding dress, which we made to measure to fit her perfectly, in champagne satin and gold lace.  From the moment we first met this relaxed and charming bride-to-be, Angela was an absolute pleasure to work with.

Providing the marquee for such a happy occasion and be part of making special couples dream come true. The finishing touches were chosen to add to the occasion, ensuring every detail was taken care of. As they were married in August, the floral designer put together the most glorious summer bouquets, table decorations and flower arch in gorgeous pink and white roses.

Angela and Neil chose to marry at St Lawrence’s Church in Lurgashall, followed by a relaxed reception in a stunning marquee from Marquee Hire Cobham.

We’ve had some great news at Trafalgar and JF Marquees in the last few weeks.  Our Managing Director, James Morris, has been nominated as Young Director of the Year at the IoD (Institute of Directors) awards. Firstly, this means we get to attend a glitzy awards ceremony (well we’ve got to get our priorities straight!), but becoming a finalist in such prestigious awards means a whole heap of other positive things for our business too.

Recognition

With the IoD awards there was a stringent application process which included a written entry and an interview.  To become a finalist is great recognition for a job well done by our Managing Director, James and shows that the company is on the right track.

Publicity

Well you are reading this blog, aren’t you? ;-) Becoming an awards finalist is a great good news story for us to share among our clients, suppliers and associates, and we’ve already had some lovely messages of congratulations.  We think it also increases our client’s confidence that they have made a great choice in choosing us for their marquee requirements.

Motivation

The announcement of James’ nomination was a great morale boost in the office and has really spurred us on to make 2017 a fantastic year at Trafalgar and JF Marquees.  Knowing that your work is recognised as some of the best by an organisation like the IoD is a great accolade.

Reflection

Taking part in any awards nomination process is a great way of reflecting on how far your business has come and where you want it to go next.  It has helped us formulate ongoing plans for the business and reflect on some of the most positive things in our business, as a whole.

Celebrate

It is very easy to forget to celebrate the wins in our businesses, so an occasion like this is a great opportunity to recognise that.  All that’s left to do now is make sure that tux is dry cleaned before the finals on the 17th May!

In February 2015, Marquee Hire were delighted here at JF & Trafalgar Marquees ( their big sister!), were accepted and have become an accredited member of the renowned leading industry body.

Hire a marquee early to avoid disappointment

Plan Your 2015 Event Early To Avoid Disappointment

You may be thinking, it’s only July, why would I need to be planning for 2015?  But think of it this way, the school holidays are upon us which means 6 weeks of trying to juggle work and the children, and before you know it, it will be September which means its downhill all the way to Christmas.  If you have an event which you wish to take place in 2015, such as a wedding, a party or perhaps a corporate event for work, you really need to start thinking about getting the basics booked up.  2015 sees a number of large sporting events including the England Rugby World Cup and the NBA Global Games in London, so events companies will be busy organising celebratory events and availability may be limited.

First of all, you need to choose your location.  Many hotels and function rooms will be booked up months in advance – particularly during the summer months or in the run up to Christmas.  Hiring a winter marquee hire will give you some valuable added flexibility, after all if you have the perfect location but the room is simply not big enough, the marquee can make the venue a viable option.  Don’t forget marquees can often also be added on to provide a temporary extension of an existing room.

Once you’ve booked the venue, it can be a good idea to book the caterer too.  Reputable caterers will already have bookings in place for 2015, so have a think about the type of food which would be most appropriate for your event, and starting getting some quotes.  It might also be worth asking if the caterers can provide serving staff too – especially if you are hosting a sit down meal or if you wish canapés to be offered to guests on arrival.

Popular entertainers and other suppliers will no doubt also be in great demand, so if you have a particular band or DJ which you wish to perform at your party, make sure you get your booking in well in advance!  Items such as decorations and flowers can be left until closer to the big day, but the more you can organise in advance, the less worry and stress you should have in in the run up to the event.

Corporate Marquee Hire in London Case Study.

We were approached by a prestigious London hotel that needed to accommodate a large number of guests for an opening party for a conference.

Notwithstanding that, due to the location of the site, in central London, restrictions and build times were tight with a number of constraints surrounding the build and de-rig.

Our success in delivering highly successful corporate events meant we were well placed to consult and assist from concept to delivery.

Due to the relaxed tone of the event, our team suggested using a number of marquees to maximise the use of the garden and enhance the feel of the event. In addition we also used a range of atmospheric lighting throughout the marquees Layout of main marquee, with soft seating and bar area.

The final layout comprised of a reception marquee, main marquee with soft seating and bar, with a central area surrounded with a number of Chinese hats used as food stations providing a variety of fabulous food and a small marquee for a band and speeches.

Trafalgar also looked after the supply of a number of services such as providing luxury loos, provision of power and distribution for the event, ensuring the evening was a success.
